Sustainable life at home
The new LEDs are much better than the old incandescent bulbs, because they save energy, make more attractive designs, offer a better quality light, are more respectful for the environment and last up to 20 years. So, we’ve switched our entire lighting range to LEDs. And this really does mean all of them: from kitchen lighting to bedroom lighting. And don't worry: we have a LED bulb to meet each need. Welcome to the new lighting revolution. Welcome to the brighter world of LEDs.
Our best bet! From now on, all of the lighting products sold at IKEA are LEDs, because they're better for your home and for the environment.
Lighting is a very important part of life at home. It allows us to live more safely and comfortably. And it allows us to do things that we couldn't otherwise do. But around a quarter of the world's energy consumption is destined to lighting. That's a lot of energy.
At IKEA, we want to help you live in a more sustainable way. We want to help you reduce energy consumption without making sacrifices. We want to help you have a more sustainable, affordable and easier life. And LEDs make a big difference.
You don't have to change your old lamps. You will find a LEDARE light bulb for each need. .
LED bulbs use up to 85% less energy than the incandescent bulbs and last for up to 20 years.
LEDs use up to 85% less energy and last 25 times more than incandescent bulbs. Their small size opens up a whole new world of lighting design possibilities. And the light quality is so good that you can have both functional and decorative lighting in just one light. So LEDs aren't only making life at home more sustainable, they're also making it more beautiful.
LEDs are so tiny they can integrate almost anywhere, offering loads of new possibilities from a design perspective.

Savings that will give you chills
If you want to save both money and energy, replace your fridge or freezer with a new, energy-efficient model. In Europe, refrigerators with energetic efficiency class A++ consume 40% less energy than A or B class. But it's not about paying more to save energy. Which is why we made our entire range of fridges and freezers A+ and A++ rated in Europe, and sell them at affordable prices so many people can afford them.

Look at how fast the water boils
How does the induction technology work? It's basically a magnetic field technology that just heats the container – not the hob or surrounding air – so almost no heat is wasted. On an induction hob you can bring to boil two litres of water in five minutes, while in a glass-ceramic hob the same quantity takes twice the time. We'll soon be offering you many more induction hobs!

There are many simple ways of saving energy at home, and a couple of them only consist in visiting the store. Many homes lose heat through the floor, and the perfect solution are rugs: inexpensive, quick-fix and energy-saving.

You can also save energy and regulate the indoor temperature by using textiles to insulate your windows and doors. Curtains block the heat in summer and help keep it inside during the winter.

We can all recycle and reduce waste, from small homes to the big companies. Avoiding waste is a simple way to save money and by only using strictly what's necessary. Recycled paper, plastic and metal can be reused to make new products, instead of taking more resources out of nature. Who knows what the egg cartons or juice bottles could become next!
