TÖRNBÄR plant pot is a collaboration with social entrepreneurs. It’s hand-woven in banana fiber and made by Industree in India which provides long-term income for female artisans and their families.
Banana fibers have natural color variations which make every pot unique.
You can plant plants in this versatile pot, or use it to store things or as a waste bin.
Sturdy handles in the same natural style as the pot make it easy to lift and move.
Banana fibers may have dark spots, which have no effect on the strength of the material.
Recommended for indoor use only.
The strong banana fiber is a by-product of banana growing. The plant only bears fruit once, and instead of letting the trunk go to waste, the outer fibers can be dried and then woven and braided into things like baskets, table mats and furniture. By using fibers from different banana species we get a natural color variation – and a more vibrant expression.
Made from banana fibre by sure-handed artisans, IGELSTORP and TÖRNBÄR plant pots and wall decorations add handmade beauty to your home – and also create jobs in regions where they are most needed.
